Cadillac AWD Choices
The STS is the first GM vehicle equipped with the new 3.6L direct injection V-6 engine. This bumps up horsepower by an impressive 47 ponies. STS with the AWD option upgrades tires and brakes as well. Using the same basic platform, the smaller CTS and larger SRX crossover are also available with AWD. None of the Caddys have a manual transmission option with AWD. Car and Driver Magazine also praised the 2008 CTS, naming one its 10 Best Cars. There are 2 trim levels for the V6 Cadillac STS AWD option; the Standard model,and the Luxury. The Luxury trim level focuses on interior upgrades; a memory package for two drivers, Eucalyptus wood trim, BoseŽ AM/FM stereo with 6-disc in-dash CD changer. The Luxury Performance version carries an AWD option as well, but only when equipped with the powerful Northstar 4.6L Variable Valve Timing V8. That top o' the heap STS carries a $63,595 price tag. The 2009 Cadillac CTS with the AWD option includes the 263hp version of the 3.6l V6 and Cadillac's 6 speed automatic transmission. The 3.6 Direct Injection version can also be had with AWD, and also includes a 6 speed automatic transmission. At 113.4 the CTS wheelbase is exactly 3 inches shorter than the STS or SRX. But caddy has hidden a mandatory $200 option on their base AWD CTS, so the real entry AWD price is $39,666; up almost 2 grand from last year. Still no AWD sportwagon version in 2009. |
