2009 Lincoln MKS

Lincoln

Ford and Lincoln - Mercury have teamed with Microsoft to create SYNC - The industry-exclusive, voice-activated, hands-free, in-car communications and entertainment system. For 2009, it adds new features, including 911 Assist, which can directly contact local 911 emergency personnel to dispatch help in the event of an air bag deployment or fuel shut-off. The 911 Assist feature allows calls to be placed directly to a local 911 operator, eliminating the need to go through a call center operator first. There is no additional monthly fee for this feature since, when set up, it uses a customer's existing mobile phone. Also coming to the upgraded SYNC system will be the Vehicle Health Report (VHR) function, which allows customers to monitor more than two dozen vehicle systems, receive maintenance reports in simple, user-friendly language and, when appropriate, schedule service online. Reports can also be printed or e-mailed as necessary.

Lincoln AWD Choices

2009 Lincoln MK Z The Lincoln MK Z sedan comes standard with a 263-hp, 3.5L 24-valve DOHC V-6 engine. The intelligent AWD system is tuned with an emphasis on luxury performance and confident all-weather driving. The system actively delivers torque to all 4 wheels, even before wheel slippage occurs. An active on-demand coupler delivers the precise amount of torque needed to the rear wheels. Paired with standard traction control, intelligent AWD can transfer torque front-to-rear and side-to-side. Named the ‘Best Audio System’ by PC Magazine in their 2007 Digital Drive Awards, the Lincoln MKZ’s THX II system uses the latest in patented THX technologies to bring the home theater surround sound experience to the open road. The system uses a 12-channel amplifier to deliver 600 watts of power to a total of 14 speakers, including two subwoofers, strategically placed in the cabin. Prices on the MKZ AWD start at $34,585
2009 Lincoln MK X

The Lincoln MK X has a neat liftgate lighting system with 16 light-emitting diodes (LEDs), 8 on the outside and 8 inside, at either side of the Lincoln badge, resulting in illumination from "edge-to-edge", as Lincoln describes it, across the width of the liftgate. As bad as the front view is, the rear of this car is pretty good. Lincoln MKX boasts the quietest Lincoln interior yet. In addition to conventional sound-absorbing techniques such as a thick dash pad, laminated windshield and thick side glass, Lincoln MKX blends unique materials to reduce road noise in the acbin. A constrained-layer barrier is fused to the rear wheelhouses, and sound-deadening material is welded behind exterior trim panels. Prices for the MK X start at $39,695.

2009 Lincoln MK S

The Lincoln MK S is powered by a new 273hp 3.7-liter V-6 engine, derived from the proven 3.5-liter V-6 found in the Lincoln MKX and Lincoln MKZ, which was voted one of Ward's 10-Best Engines for 2007. Even with the boos in power, it will still run on regular grade fuel; not premium like so many of its competitors. The AWD unit uses a sophisticated system of clutches to quickly distribute torque between front and rear wheels – up to 100 percent in either direction – as needed, to avoid wheel slip.  The AWD system works in conjunction with the standard AdvanceTrac® stability control system to provide additional stability by transferring torque from side-to-side. Prices for the MK S with AWD start at $40,380 .
