Mitsubishi AWD Choices
The basic all-new Lancer platform – already stiffer than the previous-generation Lancer Evolution IX – is further reinforced for the 2008 Lancer Evolution. The roof, hood, front fenders and both the front and rear bumper beams are aluminum. The battery and windshield washer fluid tank are mounted in the trunk area for better weight distribution. No other Lancer models are available with AWD.In the crossover world, the Outlander is built on the same platform as the new Dodge Caliber/Jeep Liberty . Since Mitsubishi bought out Chrysler's stake in the Japanese firm in the last decade, the 2 companies have worked together on a contractual basis. So, while the Outlander shares basics with Caliber and Jeep Liberty, there are still significant departures. Slightly larger, but also unibody based, is the crossover Endeavor.

Note: this has been called noisy and sloppy by some reviewers, with illegible guages in daylight. |
